Horizons Saturday School - Spring 2024, Week 2

Dear Horizons at Harley Community,

We're thrilled to share the joy and success of our recent second meeting of Spring Saturday Enrichment at Horizons at Harley! It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful connections, and we're excited to reflect on the highlights with you.

One of the highlights of the day was the adult swim lessons offered to parents and caregivers of Horizons students. We're delighted to report that many members of our community took advantage of this opportunity to learn a valuable life skill. Did you know that drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death worldwide? By investing in swim safety, we're not only empowering individuals but also fostering a culture of safety and well-being within our community.

In addition to offering swim lessons, we're delighted to continue providing breakfast and lunch to all families participating in our Spring Saturday Enrichment program. We understand the significance of ensuring access to nutritious meals, especially during weekends when regular school is not in session. Research has shown that proper nutrition plays a crucial role in children's physical and cognitive development. By offering two healthy meals on Saturdays, we aim to support the overall well-being and success of our students both inside and outside the classroom.

Here are a few benefits of offering two healthy meals to families on the weekends:

Nutritional Support: Providing balanced meals helps ensure that children receive essential nutrients for growth and development.

Stress Reduction: Access to meals alleviates financial strain on families and reduces food insecurity, allowing them to focus on other priorities.

Community Building: Sharing meals fosters a sense of community and togetherness among families, creating a supportive environment for all.

Reflecting on the success of our program, we're reminded of the importance of creating access to enriching experiences for all. Through Spring Saturday Enrichment, we're not only providing academic support but also fostering a sense of belonging and community. Together, we're creating opportunities for growth, learning, and empowerment for every member of our Horizons family.
