Dear Horizons at Harley Community Members,
This past Saturday, our classrooms were filled with curiosity, creativity, and something especially powerful to witness with middle school students: genuine excitement for learning.
In both Robotics & Coding and Messy Science, our middle schoolers were fully engaged - problem-solving, experimenting, and collaborating with focus and enthusiasm. Whether they were programming robots to complete challenges or diving into hands-on science experiments, students were not just participating… they were invested. Anyone who has worked with middle schoolers knows that this kind of sustained engagement is something special.
What stood out most, though, were the smiles. The laughter during a successful robot run, the pride after a science experiment worked (or even when it didn’t and they tried again), and the energy they brought to each moment reminded us why this work matters so deeply.
At Horizons at Harley, we believe that joy in learning is essential. When students experience joy - especially in STEAM subjects - it builds confidence, strengthens critical thinking, and fosters a lifelong connection to learning. These are the moments that shape how students see themselves: as capable, curious, and excited learners.
We are so proud of our middle schoolers and grateful for the incredible educators who create these experiences each week. We can’t wait to see what they discover next.
